Pure, idyllic alps

The Lakes-Route deserves its name, because many lakes touch the route from its beginning at Lake Geneva to its goal at Lake Lucerne. The Route leads through some outstanding touristic regions with great sounding names: Montreux, Gruyères, Gstaad, Interlaken and Lucerne… Whoever completes the Lakes-Route, has seen the most beautiful corners of Switzerland.

Itinerary

Luggage drop-off in Vevey. From the city centre of Vevey, take the rack railway up to the Mont-Pèlerin. Quiet roads lead you to the source of the most popular cheese of Switzerland: the Gruyère, which shares its name with the region. A recent symphony of green melancholy, cowbells and customs.

Postcard country Switzerland: cheeseries, chalets, snowy mountains, cable cars, hotel scent and papercutting. Away from the idyll, the Pays d’Enhaut and the Saaneneland are a magnificent landscape, animated by the haze of celebrity and happy mountain goers.

The artfully decorated wooden houses of the Simmental are among the most beautiful in Europe. The Simme remains a wild river that demands a lot from dinghy riders. On to Spiez, a water sports paradies on the cheerful lake Thun.

A boat ride from Spiez to Interlaken in the morning. On the shore of Lake Brienz there is a steep ascent to Meiringen to be completed where you can take the train across the Brünigpass. You reach Obwalden: a small Canton, a big Valley, a pre-alpine landscape with scattered villages, flat lakes and long traditions.

As soon as you get a glimpse of the Lake of Lucerne, the Pilatus is in your path. Bay after bay right to Lucerne, a fixed point for every tourist. After arriving in Lucerne, luggage pick-up and individual departure.

Tour character

The route is naturally flat along the many lakes - but there are smaller and larger inclines to overcome between the bodies of water: Less sporty cyclists are therefore advised to use an electric bike, which is particularly suitable for this route. Sporty cyclists tackle the stages on touring bikes and shorten the route by public transport if necessary.

I would like to thank Eurotrek team for amazing experience. It was one of the best tour with my husband. The equipment was in high level, Eurotrek team was professional and gave an amazing service and advising. Switzerland is like a postcard country. This tour was exactly how I imagine it and beyond. I would like to thank especially to Sarah, Tamara and Nathalie who were in contact with me ...

Do this trip if you are able as it was a truly remarkable adventure that we will forever remember! We went on our Ebike trip as a group of 7 friends (from the US), and had the time of our lives. The trails were all very well marked and navigation was relatively simple (although we referred to Google Maps a lot out of our own comfort). The scenery along the ...

Wow, thank you so much for this lovely feedback. We are very happy that you and your group were so satisfied with the trip on the Lakes Route. The tour is one of the highlights you can do in Switzerland. You made a good choice! (although there are of course many other exciting regions to explore, such as Valais or Graubünden 😉)

First of all, the bikes were excellent. Second, the accommodation was first rate, in some cases exceptional. Third, the booking staff were helpful, patient and efficient. Fourth, the itinerary provided awonderful showcase of rural Switzerland at its finest All up, a wonderful experience which we wished was longer. My only suggestion is to include in the travel documents advice on using Google Maps/diections as a back-up/cross check as it came in handy more than once ...

Nous avons passés un très beau voyage avec Eurotrek. Une organisation parfaite, des vélos de qualité et un trajet de toute splendeur. Merci encore pour cette première expérience réussie de voyage en vélo.
