An outdoor paradise for hikers, bikers and lovers of Italian cuisine
Italy has always been one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world. Art, culture, grandiose landscapes, many hours of sunshine and last but not least the excellent Italian cuisine ensure an incomparable mix. Italy is a true outdoor paradise with its contrasting landscapes from the Alpine border to the tip of its boot and beyond.
Our active holidays in Italy
A dream for outdoor sport enthusiasts
Hiking and biking are naturally popular activities in the Alps and mountain regions, but apart from mountain sports they are also booming in other parts of the country and by the sea. The coasts have developed into a paradise for hikers and bikers, and now a dense network of cycle and hiking trails covers the entire Italian boot and its islands.
Varied culture and incomparable cuisine
The pulsating cities can also be explored very well by bicycle. In Italy there are many unknown beauties to discover in addition to the countless well-known cultural and scenic tourist magnets. Trekking in Sardinia or in the mountains high above the Aosta Valley, a climbing wall in the hinterland of the Ligurian coast or a cycling tour in the Foresta Umbra on Gargano in Apulia, the spur of the boot, are only some of them.
And not every cultural mystery has been solved yet. Science is still puzzled today by why the Staufer King Frederick II had the monumental Castel del Monte built in Puglia. Puzzles or no puzzles: Every tour, whether on foot, by bike or by bicycle, can be crowned with an incomparable dish from the wonderful Italian cuisine.
