Fun and action in the Inn valley

Nestled within the lush green area where the borders of Switzerland, Italy and Austria meet lies one of Austria’s most beautiful and unspoilt holiday regions – just waiting to be explored by families like yours. The opportunities for family days out are endless. Whether it’s feeding the wild animals during an exciting guided tour of the game reserve, canyoning through secluded river valleys or a hike in the magnificent mountains of the Tyrolean Oberland, there’s something for everyone here.

Conquer the wild Schalkbach river as part of an adventure tour, or scale to new heights during a Forest Ropes Course challenge. What are we missing … ? Oh, we almost forgot archery! Let your arrows fly just like legendary archers such as Robin Hood and William Tell. The Inn Valley is the place to be for plenty of sunshine and exciting activities the whole family can enjoy.

Itinerary

Arrival in Pfunds and check in to your accommodation.

A thrilling high-altitude challenge … rope climbing fun for the entire family. About 8 metres above the ground, jump, climb and balance for all you’re worth. Numerous exciting rope courses, each with varying degrees of difficulty, are just waiting to be conquered. Step out of your comfort zone for a while!

Strapped safely to a via ferrata, explore the Samnaun Gorge at the Adventure Park. Climb rock faces, cross wild streams and negotiate rope bridges. Then, the sky ladder takes you to the highest heights before you ultimately abseil down from the 35-metre-high bridge. This truly is the day to reach for the sky.

On the hunt, equipped only with bow and arrow, just like Robin Hood and William Tell before you. After a practice session shooting at targets, creep stealthily through the forest, hold your breath and take aim at the rubber animals dotted throughout the course. Bull’s eye! Perfect for the whole family to enjoy.

Feel the natural power of the glistening water and learn the secrets of “gorge hiking”. Explore the gorge by abseiling, sliding and on foot. Go on … take the plunge into the cool water!

A leisurely day in the forest near Pfunds awaits you today. We suggest a walk towards Kajetansbrücke via the Badsteig or the Wichtelweg with some fun puzzles to solve along the way. Once there, you can swim in the little lake, if you wish, and make a pitstop at the kiosk for some snacks and refreshment. As you make your way back, on the other side of the river, you’ll come across Mini Fundus, consisting of small, reconstructed buildings with a Kneipp facility. If you’d like to press on and hike a little further, the old “Altfinstermünz” fortress is well worth a visit.

Would you like to observe real wild animals, see how they live and even help to feed them? That’s exactly what’s on the agenda today! Head up to the game reserve at Kobl, where a variety of fallow deer and European mouflon await you. Experiencing these otherwise shy animals up close and personal is a genuine highlight.
